The MPQC Plant Scheme is designed to ensure organisations within the quarry sector, meet their obligations under the Quarry Regulations 1999.
Any new operator will require an assessment, to demonstrate they can operate the appropriate piece of plant/equipment safely.

You then have 2 years to achieve the relevant MPQC Level 2 Vocational Qualification (VQ), in order to upgrade to a blue ''competent operator'' card.
The MPQC Plant Scheme is designed to ensure organisations within the quarry sector, meet their obligations under the Quarry Regulations 1999.
Once an operator has been assessed and issued a red card, the individual will enroll to complete the relevant Level 2 MPQC Vocational Qualification (VQ).
Once complete, we will be able to claim and issue you with a blue competent operator card and certification for your vocational qualification.
You will need to book a refresher prior to the expiry date of the plant item (every 5 years from the original assessment date), to maintain your licence.
Once you safely pass the assessment, you will be issued an updated Blue ''Competent Operator Card''.
Those operating multiple pieces of plant/equipment will complete a red card assessment for each piece of plant/equipment they need to operate.
They will then complete the required VQ, for one of those pieces of equipment, in order to upgrade their Red ''Operator'' card, to a Blue ''Competent Operator'' card.
All endorsements will be stated on the Blue card, however, you will need to complete a 5-yearly assessment, for each piece of plant/equipment on or before its expiry date.
Likewise, should you wish to add any additional endorsements, once you have achieved the appropriate VQ, you will only need to complete an initial assessment, and then this endorsement can be added to your Blue card.
