We are able to offer two differing routes to achieve the appropriate technical competence for a permitted facility.
The only difference is how the two different routes are assessed and achieved, but all the qualifications are listed within the CIWM (WAMITAB) operator competence scheme, as being suitable as technical competence for a permitted facility.
Option A is a training route which is suitable for a range of permitted facilities from transfer and treatment of non-hazardous waste, end of life vehicles, metal recycling, contaminated land remediation, land spreading, composting and anaerobic digestion to name but a few facility types!
Option B is the more traditional option for those looking to achieve technical competence for a permitted facility and is suitable for all permitted facility types from landfill, dredging and transfer and treatment of both hazardous, non-hazardous and inert waste.

risk tier table by

CIWM (WAMITAB) Level 4 VRQ
The CIWM (WAMITAB) Level 4 Certificate in Waste and Resource Management – VRQ qualification, is the alternative route to achieve technical competence for a permitted facility, this route is extremely supportive!
The
process includes an
in-depth
knowledge training course, delivered via power point presentation; however, this will not be death by power point, this will be an interactive, fun, learning process, with various exercises, question and answer sessions. After the training, you will then complete 6 assignments.
This option is ideal for both new and experienced supervisors or managers, as well as those in support roles, such as compliance, transport managers or customer service teams.
Achievement of this qualification demonstrates competence by the learner to manage permitted waste facilities in England and Wales only. ...

CIWM (WAMITAB) Level 4 RQF
This section covers all of the CIWM (WAMITAB) Level 4 qualifications that are achieved through on site assessment in the work environment.
Suitable for all tiers under the CIWM (WAMITAB) operator competence scheme, there are over 30 qualifications available.
The process required to achieve these qualifications, will involve one of our competent Assessors visiting the site to assess the Learner a number of times, which varies depending on the size of qualification required.
Over time you will build a portfolio which demonstrates that you have the required knowledge and skills, to manage or supervise a permitted waste facility.
Achievement of this
qualification demonstrates
competence by the learner to manage
permitted
waste facility.
