VRQ415 - Principles and practices of managing land spreading activities (Mobile Plant for land spreading to include sewage sludge - Land treatment resulting in benefit)


This optional unit falls in the Medium risk tier of the CIWM (WAMITAB) Operator Competence Scheme. 


Specially designed for those involved in land spreading activities. 


The initial training course covers a range of aspects from deployments, waste reception and storage, land spreading equipment and its application, potential impacts to the environment, drainage systems, emissions, records and much more! 


On completion of the 5 mandatory units and optional unit VRQ415, the individual can act as the technically competent manager (TCM) of the below site types: 


• Mobile plant for land spreading (land treatment resulting in benefit) 

• Mobile plant for land spreading of sewage sludge (land treatment resulting in benefit) 


Applicable Standard Rules Permits: SR2010No4, SR2010No6


Are you involved in the treatment of non-hazardous sludge?


If yes, you will need to complete optional unit VRQ407 – Principles and practices of managing a biological treatment processing facility. 


On completion of the 5 mandatory units and optional unit VRQ407, the individual can act as the technically competent manager (TCM) of the below site types: 


• Non-hazardous sludge – biological, chemical and physical treatment
