VRQ408 – Principles and practices of managing a thermal treatment processing facility (Thermal Treatment such as Pyrolysis)

This optional unit was designed to demonstrate competence for Pet Crematoria and non-schedule 1 incinerators not previously covered by the Waste Incineration Directive. 

The initial training course covers a range of aspects from waste acceptance and rejection of loads, thermal treatment of waste, emissions, technical and environmental benefits, problems associated with the thermal treatment of waste, records and much more! 

This route is ideal for those involved in thermal treatment, but who do not require the appropriate technical competence. 

This unit will cover the following subjects as a minimum:

• Incineration
• Pyrolysis
• Gasification

This is the only optional unit; which falls outside of the scope of meeting technical competence.
